The Responsible Tourism Seal has already been requested by 1,669 tourism service providers in the Southern Region.
In the Southern Region, 1,669 tourism service providers have already requested the issuance of the “Responsible Tourism – Clean and Safe” seal. Rio Grande do Sul leads in the number of requests (587), followed by Santa Catarina (561) and Paraná (521). Nationwide, there are already over 11,400 requests. This number proves the success of the initiative launched by the Ministry of Tourism a little over a month ago, aimed at helping the Brazilian tourism sector resume its activities as soon as possible and meet the prerequisites of the new tourist profile that will emerge with the coronavirus pandemic.
The segments with the highest number of requests for the seal in the Southern Region are: lodging establishments (527), travel agencies (450), and tourist transport companies (250). To assist businesses with the recommended measures for reopening, the Ministry of Tourism published the recommended health protocols for 15 tourism segments that are part of the National Register of Tourism Service Providers (Cadastur), in addition to a set of guidelines for tourists as well. “The success of this initiative proves that we are on the right path for the start of activities in our sector, which was so affected by this pandemic, and is part of the set of recovery actions being developed by the Ministry of Tourism. I believe that the seal meets the needs of the sector and tourists who will be more attentive to biosecurity protocols, providing peace of mind to everyone,” commented the Minister of Tourism, Marcelo Álvaro Antônio.
SEAL – To request the seal, the interested party must access the initiative’s website, read the guidelines set out in the protocol intended for their segment, and be in good standing with Cadastur. If so, they will adhere to the self-declaration that meets the established prerequisites and will be directed to a section of the website where they can download the seal for printing.
The seal, which is completely free, should be placed in a location easily accessible to customers and will contain a QR Code through which tourists can consult the measures adopted by that establishment and/or professional. Additionally, it will allow for reporting violations, which could result in the revocation of the seal.
Protocols are available for: Lodging Establishments; Travel Agencies; Tourist Transport Companies; Event Organizers; Theme Parks; Tourist Camps; Restaurants, Cafés, Bars, and similar establishments; Water Theme Parks; Car Rentals for Tourists; and Tour Guides, among others.
